After announcing 1837 PO posts in April 2014, SBI has now announced 2987 PO vacancies in its Associate Banks. The Phase I examination comprises of an Online objective test, immediately followed by Descriptive Test (paper-pen mode). The Phase II of the selection process comprises of GD & Interview.

Candidate Profile:
- A Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
- Age : 21 - 30 years (As on 01-09-2014). Relaxation for reserved category as per rules.
(a) Important dates : Date of Written Examination - Nov 2014 (Tentative) Exact dates not given in the notification. (Since the call letter of the exam can be downloaded from 27-10-2014, it is most likely that the exam may start from 8th Nov 2014 on wards)

PAYMENT OF FEES - OFFLINE : 03.09.2014 TO 20.09.2014 (b) EMOLUMENTS:
The starting basic pay is Rs 14,500/- in the scale of Rs 14500-600/7-18700-700/ 2-20100-800/7-25700 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale I. The compensation package includes attractive salary and perquisites such as furnished accommodation or HRA, Conveyance Allowance, Medical benefit, LFC/HTC, Loans at concessional rates etc. Total compensation varies depending upon the place of posting and the perquisites
offered by individual Banks and on an average is about Rs.65,000/- per month at Mumbai. The salary Scales are due for revision.
(c) Pattern of Test and Marks :
Phase-I Examination consists of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. The Objective Test will be online. Immediately after online Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive Test on paper/Pen mode.
(i) The Objective Test with 2 hour duration consists of 4 Sections with 50 marks each.(Total 200 marks)
a) Test of English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)
b) Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
c) Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
d) Test of Reasoning (High Level)
The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
(ii) The Descriptive Test with 1 hour duration (50 marks) will be of "Test Descriptive Test: of English Language (comprehension, short precis, letter writing & essay)".
The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are Placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test. Phase-II: Group Discussion (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)
The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in each category and the candidates in the order of merit will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. The qualifying marks in Group Discussion & Interview will be as decided by the Bank. (d) Final Selection :
The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-I and Phase-II separately.
- Marks of the Written Test (out of 250 marks maximum) are converted to out of 75 .
- Marks secured in GD & Interview (out of 50 marks maximum) are converted to out of 25.
(e) Application fee: Rs 500 ( Gen and Others ) and Rs 100 (SC/ST/PWD).
(f) Number of Chances :
General category candidates who have appeared on 4 occasions in the recruitment examination of POs for SBI are not eligible to apply.
General (PWD) / OBC / OBC (PWD) - 7 Chances
SC / ST - No restriction as regards to number of chances.
(g) Call Letters :
The candidates should download their call letter and an "acquaint yourself " booklet by entering their registration number and password / date of birth, from 27-10-2014 from the Bank's website. NO HARD COPY OF THE CALL LETTER / ACQUAINT YOURSELF BOOKLET WILL BE SENT BY POST.
